Last Day Beach Sunrise

HHI Sunrise Last Day

HHI Sunrise Last Day - D700, 24-70mm

Went down to the beach on the last day we were there to see if some clouds would finally appear. As I was about to leave, because the light was getting pretty hot, I saw the lower clouds block the sun nicely and the upper clouds move perfectly to reflect off the beach. A three stop hard split grad and some adjustments in CS5 produced what I was feeling that morning…

16 Pelicans - D700, 24-70mm

The pelicans flew over the house most mornings and evenings, on this day the groups got fairly large. I walked down towards the beach to see the flock coming further away so I could be prepared…this is one of the images from that evening.

Ocean Moon-glow - D700, 70-200mm

Went down to the beach last night to watch the full moon rise…big yellow ball on the horizon with no clouds, not very photogenic. As I hung around waiting for some clouds, that never showed up, a group of people were swimming in the ocean and walked right into my frame. The moon gods started to smile at me…I snapped off a few shots of them admiring the moon-glow on the ocean…SWEET.
