During the holidays we visited my brother-in-law and all the nieces and nephews. I took a bunch of photos mostly with the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic. My main problem was trying to find the optimum focus point in low light with moving children, quite a challenge. All of these were shot in available light at ISO 1600 because the light was really that low. The more I use the Soft Focus Optic the more I like the effect you can get. Now if I can just learn how to manually focus quick enough to get the shot!

  1. Sam, These are great portraits! As Sam said, very sweet, tender moments and the soft focus really works. I had pretty much convinced myself that I didn’t want to buy the Soft Focus Optic, but now I want one.

  2. Hi Steve, Thanks for the kind words…

I was pretty much where you are till I saw and talked with Tony Sweet. After some debating I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. Like I said in the post, difficult to find the optimum focus point especially with moving subjects but with some more practice I’m sure I will improve…my recommendation is to “Go For It!”.

Wishing you and Teresa all the best in the new year!
