Violet-Green Color Study - D700, Lensbaby Composer Pro, Sweet 35
In the garden at Kings Gap were these flowers in the bright sun. Right under them was some violet phlox, perfect for a nice soft background in an complimentary color to the leaves with some white accents.

Beautiful light, color, detail and DOF!
I think they are the bottle brush flowers of Fothergilla, one of my favorite shrubs for colorful fall foliage.
Thanks for the generous comment and plant ID April, sometimes I take time to look them up, sometimes not. This was one of those ‘not so much’ times…
