Lily of the Valley – Experiment

We have a pretty good sized patch of Lily of the Valley outside our back door and every year I like to take images, still searching for the quintessential image…this is my first take on them this year. Combined 6 shots with my 85mm PC lens in Helicon Focus to maximize my depth of field. Processed in CS3 with some Topaz Detail and Nik Silver Efex Pro and then I played with some layer masks and hue and saturation. The more color variation you add to the image sections the more it separates the sections into individual images even though it’s still the same image. Kind of a fun illusion…

Here’s another variation and the un-sectioned original followed by a 100% view of the original.

I think I like the subtle blue-violet one the best but could be easily swayed to any of the other color combination’s or even the straight shot…how’s that for decisive. You could spend quite a bit of time playing with color combination’s…I did. I’m pretty sure there will be some more Lily of the Valley images this year…still searching.
