One more round of “The Great Mantis Shoot” IR this time. I was taking the IR converted D200 with me today because the sky was blue with puffy white clouds, an IR kind of day. I checked the garden on the way out and found the mantis are still here…so I shot them in IR of course.

Makes them look even more alien then normal…

  1. Sam – enjoyed viewing your hard work. Loved the IR technique. I was looking at the Kings’s Gap photos thinking to myself, “boy, these look familiar.” My wife Betty and I were up there a few weeks ago to see the mansion and walk the dogs. Listened to a bluegrass concert too. We liked quite a few of your images. That Hilton Head image is a knockout. How big did you print it?

    Best to you Sam,
    Jim

  2. Hi Jim, it was good to see you the other day.
Thanks for the kind comments on the photos, glad you liked some of them…
I printed the Hilton Head image at 36″x24″ and I think it would look even better larger.

    Sam
