Soft Lilly - D700, 24-70 + soft focus filter

After seeing some recent posts by Betsy Dallas on her blog, I got inspired to shoot some flowers in our garden using a soft focus technique. All images were shot with my D700 @ ISO 800 with a 24-70 f/2.8 lens. I added a extension tube and a Singh-Ray Soft-Ray filter to get the soft look…Betsy was using her Lensbaby and it worked great for her. May have to get the Lensbaby out too…

Soft Pink & Green - D700, 70-200 f/2.8

A study in soft pink and green from the garden at Kings Gap. These were in the shade with a touch of filtered sunlight on them. Shot with my 70-200 @ F/2.8 with a 500D close-up filter. I added a touch of the fractalius filter and some additional work in Photoshop.

I was scouting late this morning up in a garden in a local state park. The light was pretty hard and I wasn’t expecting to really get anything but the light was OK in the shade, so I put my 70-200 on with a 500D close up lens and explored the ornamental grasses in the dappled shade.

Here’s a IR shot from our vacation earlier in the spring, seems like a long time ago…took this from the condo one evening. This beach gets wider every year. Infrared shot using a converted D200 body and toned using Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0
